What could be better on a chilly morning than a pile of blueberry-sourdough pancakes smothered with fresh, homemade maple syrup? Nothing else this side of the pearly gates comes close. But maple syrup isn’t just for pancakes. It makes a wonderful natural topping for ice cream, pastries, and a thousand other dishes as well as a natural sweetener for teas and roasting meats.
Recently, iSportsman sponsored YouTuber and active-duty service member Mike Rogers on a late season mule deer hunt in Arizona. We partnered with Huntworth as a clothing sponsor to ensure Mike had all the essentials for this desert challenge.
Want to have a date night on the town, but without the town? This coffee crusted wild game back strap with fried onion shoestrings makes for the perfect date night without having to leave the house. It presents beautifully, with the golden fried onion shoestrings piled high on a perfectly cooked steak and drizzled with a rustic, indulgent stout sauce. The only aspect better than the presentation is the taste!

Morel hunting has, at best, a four-week window of opportunity unless you want to start in Georgia and finish in Oregon. I was so anxious that even though it is the dead of winter, I decided to go. With me was my granddaughter Brianna and her friend Sofia. Being the eternal optimist, I had each young lady carry a five-gallon bucket.
Mike Rogers is just a regular, every day, 34-year-old guy, who enjoys the outdoors, anime, and BBQing on the weekend with friends and family. Five years ago, he started a new hobby that quickly became one of his greatest passions: bow hunting. Now, he hunts whenever he can and produces videos on his YouTube channel to share his passion with the world.
For many hunters the hunting season is over. Waterfowling is done in our area for the year. The final deer hunts are behind us. What pheasants are left are breeding stock for next year. It’s a sad time of the year for most diehard hunters. But if you are truly a diehard hunter, you really aren’t done. There’s plenty of time to go rabbit hunting; in fact, this time of year is a great time to go rabbit hunting.

I like every kind of hunting season but for me, the December muzzleloader season for deer is perhaps the most special.
It all started years ago when I purchased a secondhand Kentucky Rifle replica that couldn't shoot straight and ended up blowing a piece of percussion cap into my eyelid. As I drove myself to the doctor’s office on that memorable fall morning a couple of decades ago, I realized three important things: 1. always wear safety glasses while shooting 2. Cheap used firearms are being sold for a reason, and 3. I love muzzleloaders.
