Barnett’s Explorer XP 400 is the Archery Season Upgrade You’ve Been Searching For

Barnett’s Explorer crossbow series offers hunters user-friendly and performance features typical of crossbows costing much more. Coming standard with an adjustable butt stock for quick length-of-pull charges, which adds versatility for use by different-size shooters or wearing bulky layers. The CNC machines aluminum flight track allows for an ultra-smooth release and improved accuracy, while the laminated limbs add durability and only require a single bolt for out-of-the-box assembly. Three Picatinny rails are included for optics and accessories.

Both the TriggerTech frictionless release technology trigger and Metal Injection Molded (MIM) trigger come standard on all Explorers. The features improve accuracy by creating a buttery smooth trigger pull. Each Explorer is CCD (Crank Cocking Device) compatible, so crossbow hunters that have difficulty with Rope Cocking Devices can safely and comfortably cock their bow.

Keeping up with Barnett’s safety standards, the Explorer—like all Barnett crossbows—has an Anti-Dry Fire (ADF) trigger system which automatically engages upon cocking the crossbow. Making it so the bow cannot fire until the bolt is secured under the patented Soft Lok floating bristle arrow retainer.

The Explorer models can be differentiated by arrow velocity. The XP400 shoots at 400fps, the XP380 at 380 fps. Similarly the XP370 shoots at 370fps and all models are capable of delivering deep-penetrating hits on target. All Explorers come ready to hunt with two 20-in. carbon arrows, 4x32 multi-reticle scope or red/green illuminated red dot sight, a rope cocking device, lubrication wax, and a lightweight quiver.
